I have started folding again please take a look at the you tube video above which explains a little about it. It's a really good thing to do with your computer when your not using it,or even when you are using it.
It works in the background on your computer doing little or big work units. you get points and certificates. You can go alone or join a team I'm in a team called Redline @ OC3D .NET.
Team number 98860
Redline @ OC3D. net is in the top 50 teams in the world.
I have three computers folding at the moment which I leave on 24/7 I have not got many points for the team just yet but it will get better. I used to do folding@home with another team but decided to go with
Redline @ oc3d.net because I use there website allot. If you want to learn more about folding and would like to help just Google Folding@Home and you will find everything you need.
When proteins do not fold correctly, also known as misfolding, there can be serious health consequences, including many well known diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE), CJD, ALS, Huntington's, Parkinson's disease, and many cancers.
If we better understand protein misfolding we can design drugs and therapies to combat these illnesses.
